Michel is the one who came up with the concept of the belly guard girth. The narrow girths can be very uncomfortable to horses and can create some restriction of movements, lesions or even more, some fractures of the sternum. Therefore, Michel had developed the concept of the belly guard to distribute the pressure on a wider surface area. This girth also protects the horse from any kick from the front feet while jumping.

Michel has developed a newer design to offer a greater comfort to the horse and a secure feel to the rider:

. The entire area in contact with the sternum is made of a memory foam extremely soft and comfortable for the horse.
. The contour lines of this girth are made of a special padding to minimize any rubbing or pressure points.
. The anatomical shape of this girth allows the horse freedom of movement and prevents any rubbing near the elbows area.
. The D ring for the martingale is covered by a piece of leather to prevent any risk of getting the shoe stuck in it during the jump.
